OEM DVD Burner

Post by Yam Boy »

call me an idjut/fool/dumbo whatever....

but if i buy like an OEM DVD burner is it easy to hook up to my PC?

thinking of getting this:

h**p://www.blankdiscshop.co.uk/cgi-bin/sh00000 ... 1069#a1069

not bad for £120 but wondering if i am going to screw up when trying to put it in my PC..

any help please?

It installs as easy as pie. Like any other drive. Just pop the cables out of your existing drive. Take it out of the bay and drop the DVD burner thingy in the same slot and put the cables back in (as they were in the old drive).

Sorted.

ahhh it's good... quite a few cheesy comments... but nice to understand whats being said

and it's a bit more of a challenge than the Jap version (which was completed 1st time without losing a credit), it cost me a few credits this time

I recently upgraded my drive to the NEC1300D (The one thats less than 100 quid).. Although worried it might have problems with media, like all my other past drives have, a quick bios update though and it works like a dream.. imagine my shock burning stuff in like 15 mins! Bliss!

:)

Btw- Just back from holiday.. 2 weeks fishing in sunny Wales.. And err.. got beaten by the wife again  perhaps I should take up something like skydiving lol..

i was ummming and ahhhing over the pioneer and cheaper one..

but it only cost me £113, with 99p shipping and 5 free blanks...

sure the website quoted more than that but i'm not complaining :D

I just got prassi primoDVD2.0 and updated it but it's only picking up my plextor burner.....

i removed my mitsumi 4x cd burner which was set as slave and set my pioneer 106 as slave aswell - is that correct or do i need to change the settings on both drives round?!?!

already ripped a DVD original just ready to burn it

oh and i burnt an x-box game earlier perfectly fine, apart from Nero is only giving a write speed of 1x?!

I am using 5.5.10.50 OEM version, you think i need version 6?

cheers ears!!!!
