Shit!

Sorry lads, I COMPLETELY forgot about your stuff! Typical for me, and my grovelling apologies.

I promise to get cracking on your stuff tonight. Installing the DVD t'other day was the reason for my forgetfulness.

One sthing while I have your attention Shane; I have some stuff recorded on the Philips 880 home DVD recorder. I want to get it into a format which will let me edit it in Pinnacle Studio 8.

Can you recommend anything?

Hmm.. Best bet would be to check out afterdawn's forum and see if anyone else has tried it. I suspect that any program capable of dealing with Mpeg2 streams should be ok.

If you want the Mpeg2 streams only and then wish to work on them try DVDdecrypter or SmartDVD as these will allow you to just rip the Mpeg stream, even allowing you to take the Audio as a seperate stream if you need.

If it's a non standard DVD format though.. Well no idea sadly..

I don't need to bother stripping any menus etc. so just the video (about 40 minutes) and audio. The file format is .VOB

I'll have a search around.

Mike.

Just use smartripper and take the mpeg streams with that..
you should then be able to edit them in whatever program you desire..

Smart Ripper will also allow you to strip it in certain sized blocks if my memory serves me correctly.
