Went to the Paul McCartney gig at the Manchester M.E.N. last night (Thursday). I'm guessing there aren't too many big McCartney fans here, but I have to say the gig was fantastic. Easily the best I've ever been to. The production was superb. I was seated centre front stage, 8 rows from the front, so had a top view.
He did nearly three hours non-stop. A mixture of Beatles and Wings stuff, along with tracks from his new album. Such a refreshing change to listen to a real musician rather than the 99% tripe in the charts these days.
Only downside was the official tour programme. Of course, I HAD to buy one, which I did, but DAMN.... £15?!
Top stuff!

I couldn't sit there and listen to his newer stuff - true ! But I do appreciate the impact he had during the 60s & 70s to the direction of popular music. I quite like watching some of the daft Beetles videos.
I heard him described the other day as the "Microsoft" of music. Which was a tad unfair.
If you enjoyed the gig then cool, music is to the individual.
