My poor message board ...
I am assuming you are getting the same error messages as me?

Hmm sounds like something went wrong with either the server hosting the Sql database (perhaps they upgraded some software on it) or someone hacked the fourm or server.
Sucks but seen it happen a lot of late glad I can get mine backed up fairly easy now without hassles
Should really change the layout of this fourm though so it fits the rest of the site..
Mike I seem to remember you did this once, you still got the skins around anywhere or was that an older/different forum system?

Since both you and Moby's boards are down, check this out.
http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/technology/4117711.stm
Perhaps the admin-type people at the hosting company your with decided to do a global PHPBB fix or something, that error is simply failing at connecting to the database by the looks of things, which is generally down to invalid MYSQL login details (username/password or host name) (which could have been caused by config.php (for phpbb) being replaced, and thus failing at connecting to the database).
So if your database is intact try changing your username, password and host in config.php

Never really heard of PHPBB having that much problems with exploits, also PHPBB 2.2 looks really nice also - http://area51.phpbb.com/phpBB22/Glad I use Invasion on my own sites now
But I still favour VBulletin over all of them, just kinda hard to justify the initial outlay for my own sites.

Hehe - oh well, at least I can 'chunter on' at Shane's place for a while.
But ... my board will return in some shape or form. I need an outlet to be really negative about this crappola world we live in.
Glad Christmas is almost over. Only the sales and new year to get through now, then back to observing the machine.
