Any Knight Rider Fans?

Post by dan »

A mate on my course did a hilarious spoof of Knight Rider for his final major project. So good I decided to put it up online for him to share it. Sadly the smallest I could get it for now is 166Mb (its 30 minutes long, DivX/3ivx), so if you're willing to download it I'd highly recommend it. It's worth the wait...

Dang, not good.

I've been asked to prepare a Windows Media version, so as soon as that's ready, I'll post it here (if it's small enough). The original file was 5.9Gb!!!

Didn't quite manage to get the whole thing, but this clip will give you an idea of just how funny it is... :D

(I've been told the main DivX file runs fine in WMP9 with the codec.)

Hmm I have WMP9 and it was playing around, might be my machine though as I have service pack 2 on it and its been giving me grief for the last couple of days (the pop up blocking works well though)..

Well, it finished encoding to Windows Media format. Took 31 hours and ended up with a 213Mb file!! Let me know if you want it, it is really good fun. :)

Yeah I can do that. PM your postal addy and I'll get a copy sent. :)

I want to know how he did too - it's a great piece of work, technically very good and he obviously spent a lot of time storyboarding and editing it in Premiere. Unfortunately our (new) course leader isn't very tech-savvy, and only sees the "front end" appearence of things. I've been failed on pieces of work that have taken weeks to prepare (I was rotorscoping), and didn't look too bad, but because she didn't "get" it she gave me a low "failed" mark. This was despite the cleaners throwing away my backup material.

The video went down a treat with people who came to our exhibition, but our course leader was never very interested. If he gets a low mark for that, there'll be some pissed off people on our course. We're already bothered because none of us got above a particularly low grade for our dissertations - alarm bells!! Results day 9th July... we'll find out then.

I've been trying to help him out because he has done such a great job on it, and spreading a 5Gb file isn't really a good idea, lol.

Sorry, rant over.

Some people have left with great design skills though:

I'm trying to get mine set up before the next full moon!! :)

Shane, just to let you know, Mark got a 2:2 overall. His knight rider got in the 60%s I think... :)
