I was going to do a reply to this earlier but was called away and the idea got lost in the post. But was going to say after your job upheaval a couple of years (how time flys), I suppose that period puts the whole job changing situation into a new light and makes it easier to deal with :) Also not f...

Whenever have people just brought what they 'need', when did any of us need any of our homely comforts. People who aren't into the whole internet are at the mercy of shop prices, so yes the after christmas sales do look good generally to them. And yes will always boost impulse buying. Thanks Egg for...

Glad I use Invasion on my own sites now
Never really heard of PHPBB having that much problems with exploits, also PHPBB 2.2 looks really nice also - http://area51.phpbb.com/phpBB22/

But I still favour VBulletin over all of them, just kinda hard to justify the initial outlay for my own sites.

How safe am I with a software-based Firewall? Zonealarm is very good, but a hardware firewall or a specific machine running a linux firewall will always be better (much better security than windows if setup correctly). Hardware firewall will always be best protection since its not let down by poten...

I had tried Beta RC1, its not bad, it changes alot of the system files, I never really came to a strong conclusion on it though, it screwed up my windows installation once, so I stopped using it. (kinda expected it would since beta, and a complete overhaul of the systme files, so np) But after getti...

And I would have used the forums for the news, and displayed it on the front page using synidication. Then people would n...

I think its a good oppitunity if you can get the 'customers' to break even and make it worth while. Maybe if your took on a few people to begin with, just to see the the type of problems that may occur, if any problems that pop up gets fixed and all goes smoothly then introduce the service to more p...

Random Avatar thingy

Well I had some free time yesterday and decided to design and build a random avatar picker. http://www.stelf.com/b63/ <-- is the avatar gallery, which is made up of some pictures I made into 90x75 avatars. Works well on PHPBB boards or any board which allows you to use url avatars, to use either put...
