Xbox recommendations !

Post by beardfreak »

Ok then chappies - out of the (cough) original games you have bought lately  What would you recommend and why?

I have just finished the average Judge Dread (cheers Moby) and want something suitable to move on to.

Just got True Crime, which is alright, not exactly GTA though.....perhaps you should go for the GTA double pack?

BTW just finished an xbox style cd for you for you, with atari stuff, shikigami( which is a DC style shooter, and Ford Racing(which i havent tried yet), plus various albums and the never before broadcast Blackadder pilot!

Anyway GC is where its at, Animal Crossing and Fzero are both superb!

Ok then guys and gals this is where its at for the Xbox....
LOTR 3 Excellent more of the same and a multiplayer mode!
Glitch - Yep right there with Wiz on that one its humours and fun.
True Crime hmmm so so not that impressed.
Gladius... not too bad a lot better from lucas arts.
SSX3 More of the same very enjoyable.
Amped 2 Ok not bad i personally prefer SSX 3 but that just me.
Crimson Skies actually a improvement on the PC version looks lovely.
Tony Hawks Underground again more of the same, nice story mode but I got bored with it after a bit.
FIFa 2004.... SUCKS!
Voodoo Vince quite a lot of fun but not as good as Glitch.
Grabed by the ghoulies. I really enjoyed it, gets a bit repitive though but I think the reviews were a bit harsh.
Gotham Racing 2 is superb. BEst racer yet.
Errr.... cant remember what else.

On the PC War of the Ring (LOTR)is well worth a look at :) Name another game and I probably have it :)

Parcel recieved and processing :) Have to say XIII has been getting pants reviews which is a real shame. I also have to say the surprise of the year has to be Prince Of Persia which really is fantastic. Also has anyone seen a dogs life? looks intriguing. Well now Im a game designer I get to analyse stuff all day :)

Yeah, just picked up Dogs life, nice 'smellovison' idea, from what I've played, seems a nice twist on arcade adventure genre...plus you can bark!

If you get the chance, have a look at Maximo vs Armies of Zin, doesnt do anything original, but the levels are really well designed and the controls work fantastically well...

Played the demo of POP, very nice indeed, should have the full game by the end of today :D

Simon...

out of the above i think i'd pick Kill Switch

its a proper gripping game...

i got it off the Wizard a few Friday's back... i'd clocked it by the Monday but it's proper manic

it's reccommended to play some Simpson's hit n run inbetween as a nice relaxation from it for a while...

as for SSX, Tony Hawks, yeah they are ok... just more of the same though.... LOTR 3 is pretty good aswell

True Crime i switched off just after loading.... looked like a right old Eidos turkey, quite surprising as my mate had high expectations...

oooh now Prince of Persia sounds interesting..... used to love the old version of that....

Hmmm I have to say I would put Prince Of Persia about 4 shelves up from Kill Switch. I dont know maybe the version I have was a beta or something but I wasn't impressed at all. There was nothing that really put it above other games of the genre. However POP3 is superb. If I were you Id check out the reviews and then make your own decision. Sorry Yam Boy but I have to disagree with you on that one :)
Infact here is a review for you....

Sh*t on a bike! I find myself agreeing with Moby.... :o

Prince Of Persia is superb, a really good update on the original premise. Killswitch I found incredibly average, got bored after the 1st couple of levels and put it away....fairly generic 3rd person shooter, preferred Freedom Fighters..

Mind you, I'm currently obsessing over Animal Crossing, where my main gameplaying duties involve weeding and writing letters to animals so perhaps my opinion should be taken with a pince of salt :)

well i stand corrected....

POP pisses all over Kill Switch

i would still reccommend a play on Kill Switch - it's like Time Crisis - fun to play, shite storyline.....

totally hooked on ths POP though.. well impressed
