NAME:
Simon Dorn
COMPUNET ID:
Psymon
WHAT HE DID:
Demos. Around 20, maybe more. Three of them with Vandy. I
also was involved with a team of games hackers called The
Data Department. I used to write the intro screens to
the hacks. Programming around one demo every two weeks, I
made sure there was plenty of interesting demos on Compunet.
CLAIM TO COMPUNET
FAME:
Well I guess ZZap 64 reviewing my demo in issue 26 June 198,
this was the beginning of the end. After gaining this recognition,
I decided to finish with demo writing and start writing games.
I applied to many companies including Ocean and Martech. However
none of them needed my talent at that time.
WHAT'S HE
UP TO NOW:
Well I am a Technical Support analyst for a company in Essex.
These days I am not into programming any more. It would be
nice to have the time to. I am however into learning new languages.
At the moment I am learning Russian. Last year I was travelling
the world. Going to Moscow was one of the best things I had
ever done. Very soon I will return.
OTHER STUFF:
I still own a Commodore 64 and tape deck. But does anyone
know how long the tapes keep working?
TOP THREE
FAVOURITE PROGRAMS/HARDWARE:
Has to be Napster
MP3 music at its best. Then comes my 4800DPI scanner. I just
love messing around with pictures. Photostyler has to be the
best program for messing with pictures. Keep it simple guys.
