NAME:
Graeme Norgate
COMPUNET ID:
PIMAN (yes, it was named after the Automata character)
WHAT HE DID:
Started up the ZOO. Reviewing as many uploads as possible.
Then it started getting silly if I remember correctly. I started
an Import demo directory, record reviews, something to do
with Viz ?, interviewing demo teams and probably some other
stuff I can't remember. Then Dral came along and did Zoo Tv
and helped me out with some other bits and bobs and he eventually
ended up taking over when I went AWOL, before he became editor
of Cnet. Crazy days, huge phone bills, kept me out of trouble.
CLAIM TO COMPUNET
FAME:
Seeing as I did nothing else, it would have to be starting
the Zoo.
WHAT'S HE
UP TO NOW:
Writing music for Rare which is for the most part Nintendo
64 games. It's what I've always wanted to do and now it's
what I'm always doing, so I suppose things worked out just
dandy. The only down point is I'm now living in the Midlands
which is as interesting as it sounds. For more on Graeme,
take at look at http://www.rare.co.uk/affairs/rarelife/musician.html
OTHER STUFF:
Never trust a Klingon
TOP THREE
FAVOURITE PROGRAMS/HARDWARE:
Hmm. You expect me to remember any of this ? On the Amiga
(if that's allowed) it has to be Soundtracker later replaced
by Noisetracker, this was the program that finally got be
getting some sounds into some form (I was too stupid to be
bothered to learn Rockmonitor you see). Paradroid spent a
long time burning it's image into my screen, and that little
white box that stuck on the back of the c64 that brought this
whole Compunet thing to my doorstep. It was big, it was slow
but it was top fun.
BETWEEN WHICH DATES WERE YOU A MEMBER
OF COMPUNET:
I joined mid '87 after reading about Compunet quite regularly
in Zzap64, I dropped out in late 89. Quite a short time granted,
but I met a hell of a lot of people in that time.
