NAME:
Pete Dabbs ( petedabbs@hotmail.com
)
COMPUNET ID:
JCB
WHAT HE DID:
Coding the Meanteam demos, doing little utils for Ste and fixing
Claka's
demos when they didn't work :) Also did some cracking and various
game
demos whilst on compunet (never anything released at the time though).
We weren't really big headed :) just liked getting on with doing
demos without getting hassled by some of the kids around on Cnet..
Hey, I ended up working at Mirage (*ahem* Rise of the Robots) with
Zig, or was it Zag? One of them!
CLAIM TO FAME:
Dunno, suppose demos in Hall of Fame, Zzap reviews etc.
WHAT HE'S UP TO NOW:
As little as possible. I've gotten bored of the whole go to office,
get hassled, make someone else rich kind of thing. Had various jobs
as games coder and my last job was as a producer for EA Sports.
Currently coding a CD-i emulator, basically because nobody else
seems to have managed it yet. Just about to move my site to EmuHQ,
so go there for details.
OTHER STUFF:
Flarn! hellasuckadirtfoo'
TOP THREE PROGRAMS/HARDWARE:
1. Stuntcar racer. God I love that game, I always go back to it
on whatever
emulator I'm messing with (ST, Amiga, c64, speccy etc). 2. Turbo
Assembler (see below). 3. MetalBar II, god I love that music, I
think it must be my alltime fave, Demon, u could have made it longer
dude.
The good old SID chip :) still listen to all the old sidtunes now
thanks to HV collection (thanks guys). err.. I'm stuck now. does
this have to be c64 stuff? Ok. Expert cartridge. For years i didn't
have any kind of assembler other than cartridge based monitor ones,
hence any of u guys who looked through my code would see bits at
addresses like $1000 $2000 $1800 etc. :) now feel sorry 4 me, a:
for being a saddo and having no assembler (got turboass in the end
(no thats not a disease)) and b: imagine doing a big routine then
thinking ARSE, I left a bit out the middle, and having to move the
code by hand (YEAY! Somone else with the same
problems as me!).
No, now I'm stuck. Gonna have to be my guitar collection (I love
u girls :)
eww ) Can even play some sidtune classics :)
DATES I WAS A MEMBER:
Can't remember, too old now, too much beer has passed these once
young lips, too many braincells have died in a needless death at
the hands of my hands. Maybe I'll ask Ste and get back to you :)
Around the same time as Ste'86.
